Bad Dog Breath? Breath-Saving Dog Biscuits

Bad Dog Breath? Breath-Saving Dog Biscuits

If you’re dealing with bad dog breath, this recipe is for you. We can find many dog treats in the aisles of pet stores. But just as with normal pet foods, we usually don’t know if what’s in them is healthy for our dogs.  Or what all these weird ingredients are in the first place. You can, of course, buy holistic, organic, whole-food dog treats to combat bad dog breath, but they are not cheap, and not everyone can or wants to afford that. So, here is a simple, low-cost, easy alternative for a yummy, healthy dog cookie your furry friend will love. And equally important, fight bad dog breath and make your buddy smell minty. Let’s bake some dog biscuits. Use organic ingredients if you can.

Ingredients for Bad Dog Breath Biscuits:

  • 2 cups brown rice flour
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons of canola oil
  • ½ cup chopped parsley
  • ½ chopped, fresh mint
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions for Bad Dog Breath Biscuits:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a medium bowl, combine vanilla, egg, oil, parsley, and mint; mix well.
  • Slowly stir in flour, then add enough milk to make a dough with the consistency of drop biscuits.
  • Drop heaping tablespoons of dough about 1 inch (important!) apart onto greased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until firm.
  • Store cooled biscuits in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator.

I have been baking these cookies for years and they will address any bad dog breath you are dealing with. Happy baking!
